    Urban Elegance

    Interior Design & Architecture

    May 10 2013

Our latest showcase apartment for Capital and Counties has been unveiled as part of the marketing launch of The Russell, the company's latest residential conversion in Covent Garden. The apartment occupies the entire first floor of the grandest of Victorian buildings overlooking The Piazza.

The apartment includes many of the features that define our style, a rich blend of bespoke design and craftmanship, sympathetic use of restored vintage pieces and a de-saturated colour palette, punctuated by strong pattern and texture.

The interior is finished with an eclectic mix of artpieces, lighting, books and objets, giving this comfortable and elegant space a clear sense of individuality.

    New In-Store Signage for L.K.Bennett

    Branding & Communications

    January 11 2013

Spring & Mercer have created a complete new range of in-store signage for British womens fashion retailer, L.K.Bennett. The usual abundance of red, typically used to announce 'Sale' has been replaced by a rich fuschia.

The new colour palette combined with elegant typography allows the retailer to announce its seasonal sales without cheapening the brand or product offering.

The comprehensive solution incorporates over a hundred artworks that adapt their colour according to the key colours of each collection across the seasons. The designs also feature a 'New Collection' poster that incorporates an image from the prevalent advertising campaign.

The new strategy was rolled out across Europe and the US in early January.

    Plot for Peace

    Branding & Communications

    November 26 2012

Spring & Mercer have created graphics for new documentary film 'Plot For Peace'  – a character-driven historical thriller, which reveals how Africa took the first step to end apartheid.

For the first time, the protagonists of this high-risk venture – African Presidents, Generals, Secret Service operatives, and anti-apartheid icons Winnie Mandela and ANC leader Thabo Mbeki – recount the true story of how regional peace-making contributed to turning the key of Nelson Mandela’s prison cell.

Spring & Mercer were asked to create the main theatrical poster which would then go on to be adapted for iTunes and DVD publication.

The film was produced and funded by the African Oral History Archive.

    Patty & Bun Branding

    Branding & Communications

    November 2 2012

Spring & Mercer have created the identity for Patty & Bun, the much anticipated burger restaurant. As well as the full complement of branding collateral we have also been responsible for styling the interior.

The brand had grown organically over the past 12 months through regular 'pop-up' restaurants within popular central London pubs such as The Endurance in Soho and the Doodle Bar in Battersea. All of that hard earned knowledge will culminate in the launch of the first 30 cover restaurant at 54 James Street later this month.

The new brand cleverly interlinks the 'P&B' letterforms to create a friendly and welcoming brand. The logo will manifest itself on menus, greaseproof wraps and packaging using a series of stamps, stencils and even a branding iron.

    AKA PEACE - LAUNCH FILM

    Branding & Communications

    October 10 2012

AKA Peace was conceived by photographer and Amnesty Award Winner Bran Symondson and inspired by his time serving as a soldier in the British Army in Afghanistan.

The project, curated by British artist Jake Chapman and produced by Peace One Day, features specially commissioned works by artists including Damien Hirst, Sam Taylor-Wood and Antony Gormley. Each were given a decommissioned AK–47 assault rifle from a war torn region of the world and asked to turn this internationally recognised symbol of war into an original work of art.

Spring & Mercer produced a short film to introduce the project, using footage from Symondson's archive. The film presents an engaging and visceral look at the projects inception and fruition.

    Branding & Communications

    October 10 2012

Spring & Mercer announce the release of a new short documentary film for Yarat! the contemporary art space in Baku, Azerbaijan.

The film was shot in Baku over a week in April and follows four of the art collectives most prolific artists. Spring & Mercer's Creative Director Jay Flaxman produced the film - "Yarat! (Azeri for 'Create!') is a fascinating organisation. Each of the artists involved have a truly unique vision, shaped by their personal experience growing up in Azerbaijan. The region has a rich cultural landscape and that's something we were keen to tap into."

The film premiered as part of an art auction at Christies in Baku, the full documentary can be seen here.
